Copycat refrigerated Reese bars
This peanut butter base takes so much like a Reese cup, you'll wonder if I got the recipe from someone at Hershey (spoiler: I did. They gave me the ratios of sugar and peanut butter). The best part of all? They’re made from just 6 simple ingredients.
What you'll need no bake Reese bars:
- creamy peanut butte (I love the Reese brand)
- powdered sugar
- butter
- Oreos
- Chocolate (not baking chips)
- Corn Syrup
How to make no bake Reese bars filled with Oreos
Hint: Using a piece of parchment to smooth the top of the bars makes for a very even place to spread your ganache.
Substitutions
- Leaving out the Oreos - If you just want the peanut butter bars WITHOUT Oreos, replace the Oreos with 100 additional grams of powdered sugar.
Storage
Storing no-bake peanut butter bars properly is important to maintain their texture and flavor. Here's how to store them:
- Room Temperature: You can store these in an airtight container at room temperature without any issue.
- Refrigeration and Freezing: If you need to stack the bars in the container, separate the layers with parchment paper or wax paper to prevent them from sticking together. Place the bars in a single layer on a baking sheet and freeze until firm. Once frozen, transfer them to a freezer-safe container or resealable freezer bag, separating the layers with parchment paper. They can be stored in the freezer for up to 2-3 months. When ready to enjoy, simply thaw them in the refrigerator overnight or at room temperature for about 15-30 minutes.
- Avoid Moisture: Keep the bars away from moisture to prevent them from becoming soggy. Make sure the container is completely dry before storing the bars.
By following these storage tips, you can keep your no-bake peanut butter bars fresh and delicious for as long as possible, ensuring that they're always ready to satisfy your sweet cravings.
