Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Filling is is like the cookie dough before you bake it. The filling is the whole reason we're all obsessed, and it turns out you can make it at home with three ingredients and zero candy shell or chocolate required.

I made a full batch and packed it right back into an empty Reese's peanut butter jar because honestly, that's exactly what it is, just smoother, softer, and ready to eat with a spoon. You can dip it, spread it, stuff it into cookies, or do what I did and just eat it straight up.

    Ingredients (and why they matter)

    • 1 jar (510g) Reese's peanut butter — this is your flavor base, using the actual Reese's brand peanut butter is what gets you that authentic Reese's cup taste instead of a generic peanut butter fudge.
    • 80g butter — melted in with the peanut butter to give the filling that soft, rich texture that mimics the real thing.
    • 510g powdered sugar — this is what turns melted peanut butter into that dense, fudgy filling texture instead of staying pourable.

    Equipment

    • Saucepan or microwave-safe bowl
    • Mixing spoon or spatula
    • Empty Reese's peanut butter jar, for storage (optional, but iconic)

    Directions

    1. Melt the butter and peanut butter together until smooth and fully combined.
    2. Mix in the powdered sugar until fully incorporated and the mixture reaches a thick, fudgy consistency.
    3. Transfer to your storage container of choice. If you want the full effect, pack it back into an empty Reese's peanut butter jar.
    4. Eat straight up, or use it anywhere you'd want that classic Reese's filling.

Baker’s Notes (aka what’s actually happening)

    • This sets up soft and fudgy, not firm like a candy shell, since there's no chocolate coating involved, it's just the filling itself.
    • This is endlessly versatile, stuff it into cookies, spread it on toast, dip pretzels in it, or just keep a spoon handy.
