Huge Oreo Cookies

These giant homemade Oreos are everything you love about the original! Bigger, bolder, and even more fun to make. Two oversized chocolate wafers sandwich a thick layer of homemade cream filling made from Crisco, powdered sugar, and vanilla.

Ingredients
  

  • 32 3" oreo wafer cookies
  • 180 grams shortening about ¾ cup + 2 tablespoons
  • 450 grams powdered sugar about 3¾ cups
  • 1.5 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions
 

  • combine shortening and powdered sugar in the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment.
  • Mix on medium until combined. Add Vanilla
  • Mix a few seconds longer, until a dough forms.
  • Place on parchment paper and put another sheet of parchment paper on top.
  • Roll out until filling is around 4 mm thick.
  • Using a 3" round biscuit cutter, cut circles of filling. Place between two sandwich cookies.
  • If cream filling is too warm, place in fridge until workable.
